In organization of BK Una, Bihać, Badminton Zadar proudly collaborated to host its inaugural badminton camp on August 9–10, 2025, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Una National Park in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This milestone event welcomed 16 enthusiastic participants from Bosnia, Croatia, and Germany, marking a vibrant step forward in cross-border sports collaboration. The camp also showed how important it is to have supported from institutions and other collaborative partners to develop sport and make it a culture rather than just an activity.
🌍A Weekend of Sport, Nature, and Friendship
The weekend camp featured five engaging training sessions tailored primarily for beginner-level players, ranging from young teens to senior enthusiasts. BK Una ensured a comfortable stay for all attendees at Camp BUK, with delicious meals served at Restaurant Aqualand, nestled along the serene banks of the River Una.
Beyond the court, the camp offered unforgettable outdoor experiences. After the final training session, participants embarked on a thrilling rafting adventure through the pristine waters of the Una River. The camp concluded with a scenic hike to the majestic Štrbački Buk waterfall, a natural wonder straddling the border of Bosnia and Croatia.
🤝 Building Bridges Through Badminton
For years, Badminton Zadar has aspired to organize a camp in Zadar and has even been approached by various European clubs to co-host extended summer programs. While those plans are still in development, this collaboration with BK Una marks a successful and inspiring beginning. The energy, dedication, and hospitality of the BK Una team played a pivotal role in making this camp a reality.
We are thrilled with the outcome and look forward to future camps with longer durations and broader participation. This event has laid the foundation for more international partnerships and enriching experiences for players of all levels.
