Resilience & Victory: Maričić and Feydel Shine at ADA Split Open 2025

Badminton Zadar marked a milestone at the ADA Split Open 2025, fielding its largest contingent yet and proving that determination and unity are the heart of the club’s success.

Leading the charge was Petra Maričić, who showed extraordinary resilience in the Women’s Singles (B). Her semifinal match against Danica Čepurac was a grueling test of endurance—dominating the first set (15–8), struggling in the second (4–15), and then delivering a heroic comeback (15–13) to reach the final. Against Barbara Bošnjak in the championship round, Maričić’s sharp tactics and unwavering focus secured the crown (15–12, 15–13), solidifying her position as a top-tier player.

Vanessa Feydel also made waves, competing fiercely in both the Women’s Doubles(C) and Singles (C) events. In the doubles category, she and partner Sanja Žnidarec (BK Tigar) fought their way to the final, surviving a gripping semifinal against Petra Maras and Bruna Sivro (15–8, 13–15, 15–12) before narrowly missing the title to Suzana Bensa and Mina Đukić (15–13, 15–13). Shifting to singles, Feydel’s perseverance was undeniable—defeating Mina Đukić (15–11, 15–13) and staging a thrilling comeback against Maras (14–16, 15–8, 15–8) to seize the championship.

Beyond the marquee matchups, every Badminton Zadar player embodied the club’s spirit, including the relentless efforts of Jakov Bljaić, Ana Grginović, Boris Jelenić, Edis Sinovčić, Adam Szymczyk, Marijeta Vidučić, Branimir Vrkić, and Cristian Vuger. Dominik Stipetić, in particular, showcased remarkable self-discipline and consistency, clearing the group phase and advancing deep into the competition.

The tournament was not just a battle of scores—it was a testament to growth, perseverance, and the power of teamwork. As Badminton Zadar reflects on these triumphs, the focus now shifts to the next challenge—the “Badminton Za sve” tournament in Zadar (Sukosan) on May 24, 2025. With newfound confidence and an unbreakable team spirit, the club is ready to write its next chapter in badminton history.
